Era în China un maestru care avea un discipol străin. La plecarea acestuia către ţara sa natală, maestrul i-a dat în dar o cutiuţă din lemn şi i-a spus:
“Există o condiţie pe care trebuie să o respecţi. Dacă vreodată vei da această cutiuţă unei alte persoane, va trebui să îndeplineşti o condiţie. Promite-mi că vei face acest lucru. Eu însumi am îndeplinit această condiţie ca să ţi-o pot da ţie. Este o cutiuţă foarte veche, care s-a transmis din generaţie în generaţie şi toată lumea a îndeplinit condiţia.”
“Am să îndeplinesc condiţia, oricare ar fi ea!” răspunse discipolul.
Era o cutiuţă fooooarte frumoasă, neprețuită, un obiect de antichitate.
“Condiția e foarte simplă, spuse maestrul. Întotdeauna trebuie să ţii cutia acasă la tine cu faţa către est. Această tradiție a fost respectată secole la rând. Aşa că, te rog, nu o încălca”.
“Aaaaaaa, este foarte simplu! Așa am sa fac!”, a răspuns discipolul.
Când a ajuns acasă și a aşezat cutiuta cu faţa spre est, și-a dat seama că lucrurile sunt mai complicate. Pur și simplu, cutia nu se armoniza cu restul camerei, de aceea, a fost nevoit să-și mute toate lucrurile. În acest fel, camera arăta destul de bine, dar nu se armoniza cu restul casei, așa că a trebuit să facă schimbări și în celelalte camere. Când în sfârșit casa a fost gata, totul arăta perfect, dar numai în interior. Căci …ce să vezi? Casa recent renovată nu se armoniza cu …. grădina. Epuizat, discipolul i-a scris maestrului:
“Cerința ta nu a fost atât de simplă precum credeam, mi-am modificat întreaga casă pentru a o armoniza cu cutiuţa, iar acum trebuie să modific și grădina. Voi ajunge să modific cartierul, apoi întreg universul!”
Atunci când în sufletul tău se sădește o sămânţă, ea va creşte şi va crea schimbări la nivel interior. Nu este suficient să știi informația, e important să o înțelegi, să o trăiești, să o respiri, să devină parte din tine. Schimbarea nu poate fi decât totală. Nu poți să schimbi doar o cameră. Alegi să renovezi toată casa. Iar când tu te-ai cunoscut în întregime, nu vei putea trăi altfel decât împărtășind cu alții ceea ce ești…. tu.

There was a master in China who had a foreign disciple, a mentee. When the disciple left for his native country, the master gave him a wooden box as a gift and said:
„There is a condition that you must respect. If you ever give this box to another person, you will have to fulfill a condition. Promise me you’ll do this. I myself fulfilled this condition so that I could give it to you. It is a very old box, which has been passed down from generation to generation, and everyone has fulfilled the condition.”
„I will fulfill the condition, whatever it is!” answered the disciple.
It was a very beautiful, priceless box, an antique.
„The condition is very simple,” said the master. You must always keep the box at home facing east. This tradition has been followed for centuries. So please don’t break it.”
„Awwwwwww, it’s very simple! That’s what I’m going to do!”, replied the disciple.
When he got home and placed the box facing east, he realized that things were more complicated. The box simply did not harmonize with the rest of the room, so he had to move all his things. This way, the room looked pretty good, but it didn’t harmonize with the rest of the house, so he had to make changes to the other rooms as well. When the house was finally finished, everything looked perfect, but only on the inside. Because … what to see? The recently renovated house does not harmonize with the …. garden. Exhausted, the disciple wrote to the master:
„Your request was not as simple as I thought, I modified my entire house to harmonize with the box, and now I have to modify the garden as well. I will end up changing the neighborhood, then the whole universe!”
When a seed is planted in your soul, it will grow and cause changes on an inner level. It’s not enough to know the information, it’s important to understand it, live it, breathe it, let it become part of you. The change cannot be other than total, you can’t just change a room. You choose to renovate the whole house. And when you have known yourself completely, you will not be able to live otherwise than by sharing with others what you are…. you.
